Soul Structure
Unlike most worlds, souls are not undividible. They are all composed by strings. The exact number of strings is not known, as said strings are not observable though, through the study of electromagnetic fields of people’s brain, it’s possible to map out a possible model of the soul. There are three kinds of strings:
1) Strength
2) Intelligence
3) Will
As people grow up, one of the three kind of strings become dominant and turns into a circle which envelops the other two, which grows within it. Eventually, as people mature, the designs become more and more refined and the other lines outgrows the circle and forms whole giant schemes which develops until the owner of the soul dies.
There are also unique kind of strings, the strings of Knowledge. Unlike the other, a person develops a single strings of knowledge every time he understands or comprehend what is a big lesson of life and his maturity grows. It would be comparable to having an enlightenment
But wait, there is more. Indeed, we are just studying so far a soul only on a two-dimensional level. But, to understand how souls are intertwined with magic, we need to study the third dimensions of souls.
Indeed, the space of the strings would be ideally, in a perfect universe, two-dimensional, as a very tense tissue. But there are somehow…. Anomalies, errors which propagate through space times generating flaws which pile up in set zones of the universe somehow bending the strings into curves.
Exploiting the flaws which exist through these curves, people are able to generate big scales error in the universe, violating physics rules and effectively using magic. Indeed, magic is nothing more but effectively anomalies and mistakes in the universe which are somehow exploitable through methods studied through time.
Lastly there is the anomaly which are known as Earthless. Despite the names, Earthless come from this very planet and go so far, to worship a god of Earth of sorts, Krampus of the Redemption. Regardless, Earthless are beings who are born with flawed souls so the other strings copy the pattern of other animals/plants to sustain themselves. Therefore, first generations Earthless are hybrids of two spaces.
But, for example, if two first Generations Earthless create a son, the second generation Earthless would be an hybrid of five races.
Therefore a demon would be a mix of the race of his father’s number of species (X) plus his mother’s (Y) plus one. Therefore, the number would be X+Y+1.
Lastly, there is the soul of the Hero. Unique among all the other beings in the world because the soul had all four kinds of strings at the birth, allowing the Hero to have unlimited knowledge and just ‘know things’ out of nowhere, just through sheer intuition.

THE ORIGINAL RACES (said to be among the three main sentient races to be born)
• Humans: Our race, said to represent the Will, due to its stubbornness, its adaption skills and high nativity factor among the three races. Humans are very in touch in magic, most of them manifesting, when able to use it, mostly elemental magic, although there were exceptions. A subspecies of humans, Warlock, is born due to magic corruption, but aside from an higher affinity of magic and a bit of lack of sanity, they are pretty much the same. Their symbol is the Lion. The main religion for Humans goes and the the Verse (ie. The whole sky known, seen as a somewhat benevolent and observant God) and the Cult of the Root, but there are a lot of people who worship the Hero as a deity.
• Silxx: The race said to present the Intellgence. An insectoid race known for its tendency to mimic an hive mind-like personality, working mostly as merchants and inventors, while being extremely weak at magic, they are potentially the most intelligent race of the three main ones. Renown for being divided in two subspecies: Silxx Arthropodea and Silxx Sextopodea, the latter not being able to express emotions (along a few other biological problems). Their symbol is the Star, their main religion is a variant of the Verse, although most of them are somewhat atheist or agnostic.
• Elves: The race said to represent Strength. All elves sustain their bodies with magic, therefore most (if not all) of them have stunning looks, athletic skills at their peak and a pretty much infinite lifespan. Boisterous and friendly, Elves have also a quite spiritual side due to their strong study of magic. Despite this, they are not as good as you would think (most of them taking decades to learn what humans can learn in a few years). But due to immortality, they are cool with this. They also love sports games and overall physical activities. Another trivia, their nativity is by far the lowest of every race. Elves corrupted by magic are called Drows, with black/dark grey skin, red eyes and white hair and very aggressive and more prone to mood swings. Their magic focus mostly on summoning. The symbol of Elves is a sword with a rose, while the Drows replace the sword with the spiders. The Cult of the Root is the main religion, a variation of which, the Word of Lloth and her Web, is the main religion.
THE ENSOULED ONES (born through accident in space continuum, but spawning from the three original ones)
• Earthless Despite the names, Earthless come from this very planet and go so far, to worship a god of Earth of sorts, Krampus of the Redemption. Regardless, Earthless are beings who are born with flawed souls so the other strings copy the pattern of other animals/plants to sustain themselves. Therefore, first generations Earthless are hybrids of two spaces. But, for example, if two first Generations Earthless create a son, the second generation Earthless would be an hybrid of five races. Their symbol is the crescent Moon, some of them more renown for their evil tendency using a dark red version of it reaping an heart in half.
• The Ravenous Ones: A somewhat weird variant of Earthless, born by accident when a magic spell irrevocably damaged a soul of an individual. Since then, the Ravenous ones are renown as being a cruel and evil specie of carnivorous monsters which mimics in a lot of way what to us is a vampire. They need to sustain on blood to avoid their body to die, but have a very malleable soul, higher affinity to magic than most races and shapeshifting. The hero is known to have practically wiped out the whole race, leaving very few survivors. Their symbol used to be an open mouth
THE ANOMALIES
• Constructs: Creatures which, like the Incubi below, don’t really have a physical body. They are creations of high ranking magician users whose magic is heavily tied to the material used to be built. Because of this, they are immensely powerful, stated to be outright undefeatable in combat (only the Hero having done so), but lack intelligence to speak of. Being essentially animal, they don’t have a symbol
• Incubi: Like the Constructs, being with not a real body composed of magic, but unlike them sentient and being not made by magician, but by anomalies in space- time. They are renown as being of chaos, as they feed through other race’s emotions and sources of ‘unbalance’ to preserve their own existence. Despite this, they are not really evil, all of them possessing different personalities. Potentially, their power ranges from weaker than insects to stronger than Constructs, to the point of being referred as Demi-Gods in their own right.
UNIQUE CASE
• The Hero: While the Hero was a human, his soul was unique among all the other beings in the world because it had all four kinds of strings at the birth, allowing the Hero to have unlimited knowledge and just ‘know things’ out of nowhere, just through sheer intuition. Because of this, the Hero was by far the strongest magician to have ever existed, even dwarfing Constructs, highest intellect and most perfect body. This and many other things made people consider the Hero, for the short time they had the possibility to witness the various tales told through ages, as ‘the strongest being of all times’ (if not THAN all times) and ‘he who surpassed the Deities’

This is very interesting, Xanto. I can see the Sempha Fidel acting as a group dedicated to eliminating the Incubi. XD

I think the Sempha would be followers of the Cult of the Root. It's a weird, misatheist religion which states the so called Root corrupted the original order of the world and introduced chaos upon the world, creating conflicts, Incubi, and the whole mistakes which are causes of every other 'unnatural' races like the Ensouled and the Anomalies. The reward of defeating the Root is, as simple as that, everlasting peace. Although to do every think they would be forced to.... you know... destroy every source of magic (as I said, magic in my setting is a glitch in the whole system of the universe >->)

Most followers simply decide to go against the Root by being good people and trying to fix the small order they can... other can be... quite zelaous in this.

This sounds like it could be a lot of fun! XD

The Sempha Fidel would be a group of radical cultists then. If they have magic users (like in this forum) then they'd be branded as both powerful allies and potential enemies. They'd keep them on a short leash, so to speak.
