Shadow Of The End

"You can thank me by telling me what you know," Eiria said.

"...right, I can give you the short version." Priestly muttered. "All this buisness with the corruption, the king being healed, those tales of the gaint monsters? There are higher powers at work...nothing is as it seems."

"Higher powers?" Eiria probed. "You mean like the goddesses?"

"...not quite. Perhaps in some ways. Its hard to explain." Priestly said, scratching his head.

"I see," she said. "But this will somehow stop the fighting?"

"Well, if we can find the source of the problem, it easier to deal with, yes?" Priestly said. "An anaolgy you would undestand. When you kill a monster you cut the head off first. This is our head. We just have to find out what it is, and my research can lead us too it."

Silver had decided to follow the girl and the scholar, so she had, once more, assumed her mist-like form. She stayed low to the ground, looking like rolling fog/mist. It might seem strange that a cloud on the ground was following these two, but if not, more power to stealth mode.

Eiria nodded in understanding. "Then I guess the rivalry between the Vox and the Hylian army is, well, a misunderstanding?" She said. "So the King really was cured by some miracle?"

She noticed a mist behind her and although she thought it was odd, she didn't dwell on it.

"If you two really do plan on going back there..."

The voice had come from being Priestly and Eiria, and should they turn around, they'd find Lyn standing in the doorway, her weapons sheathed and her expression hard as stone, her arms crossed.

"You're going to need someone who can fight."

She raised an eyebrow at Priestly. "'Anarchy', remember?"

"I wouldn't say a miracle, but it's unexplained." Priestly said, before turning to Lyn. He paused, and then nodded.

"Indeed...let's not waste time." he said.

Lyn nodded, turning to the side and picking up off the ground a small sack. She slung it over her shoulder and walked towards the door, saying as she did so, "My horse can carry three people, but not fast. I hope you don't have a deadline to meet."

No, but...we'll have to make do, then." Priestly sighed, following.

"Then let's not waste any more time," Lyn answered simply as she opened the door and walked outside, leaving the door open behind her. She paused once at the steps, and lifted a hand to her mouth as she whistled, long and loud. When it faded away, a neighing could be heard, and from around the side of the house came trotting the same mare from before. Nickering happily, the horse tossed her head, only slowing down when she came near Lyn, lowering her face and pushing it into Lyn's chest.

Chuckling once under her breath, Lyn mumbled, "Alright, alright, I know what you want. Here." She reached into the sack she'd picked up earlier and pulled out an apple, which she gave to her horse, who happily ate it out of her palm. As she ate, Lyn checked the saddle of her horse, making sure they would be ready to go.

"Are we ready?" Priestly asked.

Once she was finished checking the saddle, Lyn knelt down, moving her hands over her horse's legs as she checked for any injuries before they set off. She hadn't had the time to do so when they arrived, and she felt a bit guilty for it. Her horse nickered, lightly tossing her head as if to show her impatience at starting off again. Finding nothing, Lyn stood up and turned around, nodding once and taking Filly's reins in her hands.

Priestly nodded, and mounted the horse, carefully and shakily.

Eiria sighed and pulled herself onto the horse.

Lyn frowned, getting on front of Filly and taking up the reins. The horse nickered, obviously unused to so many passengers. Leaning over, she patted the neck of her horse, muttering, "Don't worry, girl, we won't go fast." Taking up the reins once more, she called out bluntly to the others, "Hold on." Lightly nudging her horse with the edge of her heels, Lyn pulled on the reins and the horse responded by walking off, then breaking into a light trot as they left the small Kakariko farm and headed back towards Castle Town.

When they arrived at Castle Town, they found a barricade had been formed near the gate, blocking off the main path.

"...hmm. Looks like we'll have to take a detor." Priestly said. "I know another route to my accomadation...shall we take the horse?"

Lyn frowned, slowing down Filly as they reached the gate. She scoffed dryly, her abhorrence for the royal guard raised even more.

She glanced over her shoulder as Priestly spoke. "Depends on if we'd get noticed more easily," she remarked, starting to turn the horse so they could go through Priestly's route.

Priestly looked around quietly as they passed through the streets. He suddenly saw a Vox member chasing a women into her house. She tried slammed the door in his face, and he began to angry beat on the door. Priestly shook his head.

"...I think it would be wise to avoid the attention of both sides of this conflict." he said.
