Shadow Of The End

"...well, how about I go up the stairs, and you go down?" Allard suggested. "That way we won't have to make too trips. I'll come down to you when I'm done; its faster going down."

"I see..." the man said. He paused for a moment. "...what if got better? What would you do?"

Lyn hesitated for a moment. Was splitting up a good plan? However, it was just a moment, and she nodded her head, dismissing the thought. "Good luck," she merely said simply before turning around and beginning to run down the stairs.

"You too." Allard said, running up the stairs.

There wasn't much sound aside from their footsteps. Everything was quiet....

Lyn passed by many openings, each one, she only gave a quick, instant glance to. If there were no enemies in them, or no traces that someone had been inside recently, she ignored them. If these people had kidnapped a bunch of pregnant ladies, they had to have someplace to keep them, or move them through, and that's what she would look for.

Finally, she reached a tunnel and stopped, noticing an almost stampede-like amount of tracks running through it. This was what she was looking for. She equipped her bow, fitted an arrow to the string, and carefully proceeded down the corridor.

Suddenly, a short shout came up from furter up the passage, before the sound of a sword being drawn. There was a cracking sound, and the sound of the blade again, before a heavy thump.

Her caution escalating, Lyn raised her bow, the string pulled all the way back, ready to fire at a millisecond's notice. Calmly she crouched down and sidled up close to the wall, inching closer carefully to see what the commotion was- but always ready to fire her bow for any notice.

There was silence for a moment, and then a Shiekah man walked steadily out of the shadows. He had his hand on the hilt of his sword, which was in an upside down sheath on his back. He relaxed a bit when he saw she was a Hylian

"I'd rather you didn't let that fly." he said plainly.

"Then tell me why I shouldn't," Lyn answered calmly, her composure hardly at all changed from her initial, careful entrance to the scene, and her bow still aimed right at the other's head. "Are you friend or foe?"

"Do I look like a Moblin?" the Shiekah said. "I was one of guys captured. I just managed to sneak out."

Lyn lowered her bow, her expression still unchanging as she put the arrow away and stood up.

"If you were one of the ones captured, then you know where they're keeping the others, right?" she asked, frowning.

The Shiekah nodded. "Its where I was going just now, 'till that Moblin back there showed up." he said. "Its been a couple days since we got thown in there. Everyones feeling pretty weak."

Lyn nodded, quick and fierce. "Take me to them," she demanded urgently. "I've got someone else in here searching for them, too."

The Shiekah nodded. "'course. I'm Callio, by the way." he said, making his way down the hall. "So, I'm assume your the rescue party then."

"Lyn," she responded bluntly when he gave her his own name. She followed him quickly down the hall, nodding as she answered, "We're here for infiltration. The militia is making a distraction outside for us. We want to avoid any direct confrontation with the army, just get the captives and get out."

"Sounds good." Callio said as he moved. "I've always prefered the quiet approach. Managed to pick the lock and sneak out a while back. Whoever's pulling the strings here should hire some more observant guards."

"Observant or not, each and every one of these bastards will pay for what they've done," Lyn growled fiercely under her breath as she followed him.

"Jeez, fiesty aren't we?" Callio quiped as he ran. He suddenly ground to a halt, and looked around the next corner. He raised a finger to his lips, and pointed into the room. There were two cages on either side. One contained men of all races; there were about ten in all. The other contained the pregnant women. There was a single Bokoblin in the room, who was hassling one of the men; a Goron, in the cage on the right.

The Goron didn't appear to be listening to the constant chirping the moaning of the Bokoblin; he had his back to the creature, had his arms crossed and his eyes closed. The rest of the men in the cage were watching the Bokoblin with varying degrees of annoyance. All the women in the other cage were either watching the Bokoblin or trying to ignore it, except for one who appeared to be asleep.

Lyn nodded and pressed herself against the wall, peering across the side at what she witnessed. Just one guard...? She scoffed silently to herself. This would be too easy. She drew her bow, fitted an arrow silently to the string...

And, stepping into view, let it fly. The arrow dug itself straight through the Bokoblin's skull, right between its eyes, and it fell like a sack of bricks. Lowering her bow, she ran into the room, yanking a key off the dead monster's belt and turning towards the cages.

"Callio, you escort the women to safety," she instructed as she turned, unlocking the women's cages first. She then turned to the men's, looking at them with fierce eyes and demanding, "Half of you, go with Callio to protect the women. The other half, come with me." She then unlocked the cage door, swinging it wide open.

"Thank ya kindly, lady." the Goron said, turning to her as he stepped out. He looked over at Callio. "...huh. Would of thought they'd have gut you by now, thief."

Lyn looked over at the Goron, thinking for a moment. "Can you fight?" she asked simply, frowning.

"Probably not as well as you, ma'am. I'm just a miner." the Goron said, scratching his back.

Meanwhile, Callio was helping one of the women, a Gerudo, out of the cage.

"I'm revoking everything else I said about you for the time being." she said, a bit harshly.

"I was under the impression that most Gerudo were, y'know, thieves." Callio said, rolling his eyes.

"Shut up. It's not the same-"

Suddenly, there was a sound from up above them. Almost everyone looked up.

"...what was that?" one of the men, a Zora, said.

And then two Darknut's jumped down from the walkway above them, hitting the floor with a collosal crash.

"...well, it looks like the cavalry's arrived." Callio said, drawing his sword which he held upside down. He looked back at the Gerudo. "You stay in there while I save your arse again."

"Ma'am...I think I'm gonna sit this one out." the Goron said, backing back into the cage.

Lyn glared around at the scene as it dramatically changed.

"Callio," she snapped, "Get the women out of here. NOW. We don't have time to waste with this bull. I'll take care of these two." She then glared at the men who were in the cage, of all species.

"All of you!" she barked out her orders, "Follow Callio and protect the women! My partner, Allard, should meet you down the hall. Get out of here, now!"

She then glared at the Goron. "Go with them," she ordered.

Lyn then turned to the two Darknut, taking a deep, but calming breath. This would be interesting... She put away her bow, and a loud metallic sound was heard as she unsheathed her massive, two-handed broadsword, squaring off against them and luring them both towards her so the others could sneak away down the hall.

"Don't have to tell me twice." the Goron said, running to the door....

...when suddenly a barrier form over them. The Goron ran straight into it, and fell back. "Dang it!"

The barrier's were forming over the exits, and finally it created a ring encircling Callio and Lyn with the Darknuts.

"...well, all's good so far then." Callio said, eyeing up the Darknut's, and entering a combat position. "New plan, then?"

Lyn growled angrily as the barriers were formed. So they weren't gonna let them escape until they defeated the Darknuts, is that it? Well, she'd just have to do this quick, then.

To respond to Callio, she merely said bluntly, "You take the one on the left. The right one is mine." She then lunged forward, swinging her heavy broadsword and locking it against the heavy swing of the other's.

(They're forcehittable, by the way, so go nuts)

Callio nodded, and rushed at his Darknut, who swift swun his broad sword at him. He dodged over the swing, and slashed it across the chest.
