Shadow Of The End

The hooded figure sheathed her sword- but grabbed her dagger and pushed it against the abdomen of the man as he got on behind her.

"Don't move," she instructed, skillfully threatening him with the pressure of the dagger- just strong enough to hurt, but not enough to draw blood- while also tugging at the reins of her horse. Her meaning came across clear- if he tried to get off, her dagger would dig into his abdomen and kill him.

Jerking the reins of her horse, the mare responded with a loud whinny and whirled round, leaping high over Eiria and racing down the alleyway, out into the streets of Castle Town, and then down the path leading out of the city.

(...you do know that Eiria is also a rebel?)

Eiria cursed and ducked, it all happened so suddenly; the stranger on the horse, the kidnapping of the man from the carriage - but she sure as hell wasn't about to let the man escape. For all she knew, the hooded figure was a member of the Guard coming to his rescue.

She notched an arrow as she whipped around and let it fly after the horse before taking off after them.

Lyn felt the arrow whiz by her, missing her by a hair- and though her horse, trained for such combat, remained calm, inside Lyn's blood was boiling. That could've hit her horse!! Furious, she pulled back on the reins, bringing her horse to a stop and whirling around to face the pursuer. However, at the same time, she jerked the scientist closer to her, showing the dagger clearly shoved against his abdomen.

"Make one more move and he dies!" she shouted out fiercely to the approaching attacker, her face and eyes still hidden by her black hood and cape.

Eiria came to a halt. She drew another arrow and trained it on the figure's head. She was about to let the string go but quickly stopped herself when the rider threatened to kill the man. If this person was with the Guard, why would they say such a thing?

"Who are you?" Eiria demanded, her arrow still aimed at Lyn. "Show yourself!"

Lyn was not known for being patient, or tolerant. She shoved the dagger furher in the man's side, just barely poking through the flesh, though most likely causing immense pain. A few small drops of blood leaked down the dagger and dripped down the side of the horse.

"Don't test me!" she bellowed back, furious, her voice showing no room for compromise nor negotiation. Her horse, as if sensing the anger and agitation of her rider, whinnied and tossed her head.

"Lower your weapon, or I swear I'll spill his guts all over the ground!"

Eiria tightened her grip on her bow when Lyn's dagger cut the man. So she wasn't kidding...

Still keeping the arrow in place and the string taught, she slowly lowered her bow inch by inch, but didn't let her gaurd down. If they tried to make another escape, that arrow was going straight into their skull.

"Please, you two!" Priestly said daintly. He suddenly breathed in, and regained a bit of his composure. "...I'm sure you two both have Hyrule's best intrests at heart, yes?"

Lyn's eyes narrowed as she saw the other still keeping their arrow taunt. She wasn't stupid; she knew that they would try something if she tried to run. But she wasn't kidding, either- and she meant to show it. She kept the dagger still pressed firmly against her hostage, and was about to speak when the scientist himself spoke. Lyn glared at her hostage, snarling, "You, shut up. I don't give a damn about the royal kingdom. You're coming with me, and that's that."

"You have to listen to me! What I have discovered it - it could end all of this! Please!" Priestly said quickly.

"Hold on," Eiria said to Lyn, frowning. "You're not with the Guard?"

"The GUARD?" Lyn snarled, the word spoken like disgusting poison, ignoring the scientist. "Hell, no."

"...are you even listening to me?" Priestly squeaked.

"No," Lyn answered bluntly, harshly to the scientist, still glaring at Eiria.

"Then what, in the name of the gods, do you want with him," Eiria said, jerking her head towards Priestly and relaxing her hold on her bow.

Lyn snarled.

"None of your business," she snapped. She jerked the reins of her horse, and, in response, the mare whinnied, tossing her head and preparing to turn.

"We're leaving. Follow us, and I'll gut him like a fish."

"No you won't," Eiria scoffed. "You've gone to all this trouble to kidnap him, clearly you need him for something. Killing him for my sake wouldn't make any sense."

Lyn narrowed her eyes.

"Just try me," she growled.

Without waiting for an answer, still holding the dagger against her captive and the reins in one hands, the mare whinnied as she reared up, turned around, and galloped away at top speed, running down the path which led out of the city and leaving Castle Town far behind.

Eiria pursed her lips and sighed in thought. She glanced out to where the crunching of armor and pained cries could still be heard as the Vox and the Guard took each other on, and back down the path Lyn had escaped down.

Making her decision, she slipped into the shadows and followed after Lyn and her hostage.

"Please, for the love of the gods, listen to me!" Priestly shouted. "Your making a mistake!"

The trip wasn't very long- they rode out of Castle Town, and towards Kakariko. Lyn ignored her hostage's screams, knowing she could only focus on one thing. Parts of the village had been sectioned into the horrible ghettos, but she didn't go that far. In fact, they finally began to slow down when they recahed the outskirts of town, where most of the farms were. They branched out and walked to a small farm off to the far side, and finally stopped at the house's front step.

Dismounting her horse, Lyn then turned to the scientist, with her dagger still on his stomach, glaring at him beneath the mask of her hood.

"Come with me," she demanded, waiting for him to get off the horse and follow her into the house.

"Okay...okay..." Priestly said slowly, holding his hands where she could see them and following.
