Shadow Of The End

"They're reputation isn't the best," he said. "But I can't let that monster crush part of my heritage..."

"Well...come on then." Aediox said, getting too his feet.

"You have got to be kidding me," Eiria said as Konbei started heading in the direction of the Colossus and the Novafaita village. "Letting the monster destroy their town is like killing two birds with one stone; it gets rid of those savages and clears a path to Priestly's discovery..."

Konbei shook his head a little and kept walking.

"Maybe they'd be willing to help. We'd have a common enemy." Aediox said as he ran.

Eiria scoffed. "That'll be the day," she said. "They would sooner take our heads than offer their help."

Konbei ignored the remark. The Novafaita weren't as horrible as people liked to think, as far as he was concerned, building strong fighters and preserving their race wasn't a crime.

The Colossus was nearing the trees.

"We go?" Sneeba said.

"Yeah, we're going," Konbei said, following the Colossus.

Aediox and Sneeba followed as the Colossus went through the trees.

(You can decide what state the Nova's are in when he shows up...)

Tsetsen stood with his hands clasped behind his back in a formal manner, the pauldron on his left shoulder displayed the sigil that represented his shadow affinity. His young, sharp eyes rountinely scanned the perimeter of his village's territory. A glimpse of a shadow brushing over the top of the snowy ridge to his left caught Tsetsen's eye but when he gave it a second glance, the shadow was gone.

Konbei's pace picked up as the Colosses moved through the thick trees. He drew a blade and kept a careful eye on his surroundings as his ears listened intently for any sign of Novas roaming nearby.

The Colossus continued to move through the trees, pushing one over as it went by mistake.

Tsetsen heard the faint rustle of leaves followed by the sound of a tree crashing to the ground as it echoed through the surrounding valley. There was another faint, yet heavy noise. It was almost like... footsteps?

Suddenly the portcullis at the entrance of the village flung upwards and an envoy of five men atop heavy-set destriers rushed through.

"My Lord," the head man of the envoy burst through the doors of the hall where Tage sat. He bent a knee and bowed his head as he addressed his superior. He didn't wait for Tage's approval to start speaking. "There's a monster heading for the village. The size of the tallest mountain you ever saw. It nearly stepped right on us as we were making our return from following up on the last infected group," he said, his head still bowed.

Tage shifted in his dark, throne-like chair and cast a sideways glance at Sutekh. "The size of a mountain...?" He said monotonously, almost as though he didn't believe the man.

He man rose to his feet, worry creasing his brow and drying his mouth. "And width too."

Tage ground his teeth and narrowed his eyes when he saw the man's expression. "Do you fear mountains?"

"...No-"

"Then deal with it," Tage ordered and the man bowed hastily and hurried out.

A horn was heard outside and Tsetsen watched as the first class soldiers gathered with their horses and prepared for what seemed like battle. He watched curiously and glanced back out at the ridge, wondering what was coming...

The Colossus made its way through the trees, and stood on the edge of the settlement. As it looked over the village, it seemed to look directly at Tage for a few moments.

(He's inside a building, sorry- my bad for not really making that clear :/ lemme just go.....)

Tage donned his black, leather armour with the Nova sigil marked on the front. He gripped the hilt of his crimson-bladed broadsword as he strode across the rough stone floor and outside to his troops. It was then he noticed the giant creature standing at the outskirts of his village. He frowned when it looked in his direction. So that man wasn't lying... the monster really was the size of a mountain, but it was nothing to be afraid of. The bigger something is, the harder it falls...

Tage mounted his horse and started barking orders at his army.

Konbei was catching up to the Colossus when he noticed it stop.

The Colossus just watched the Nova's carefully, its eyes still blue.

"Whats it doing? Why isn't it attacking?" Aediox said.

"I dunno..." Konbei said. Suddenly a volley of magical attacks flew up quickly at Colossus. "Looks like they are though..."

The Colossus grunted a bit as it was hit, but other than that it didn't appear to be being harmed in the slightest. Its eyes turned orange...

"Oh dear." Aediox said simply as it raised its sword.

"Coming?" Konbei said as he started running towards the Colossus.

"Bring it down!" Tage bellowed as they charged closer to the Colossus, he summoned his own energy and let loose a barrage of firey attacks at the giant creature.

The Colossus continued to swing down at them as the magic connected; but didn't seem to effect him in the slightest. The blade thundered down towards them.

Aediox and Sneeba followed.

Konbei reached the scene, with Eiria reluctantly following, just as the Colossus brought its sword down. He saw the Novas battling it, two or three were crushed under the giant weapon while the rest escaped and started their attacks again in a relentless manner, trying to harm the Colossus before it had the chance to attack again.

The Colossus was unstoppable; it just kept attacking and attacking.

Konbei jumped straight into the fray, feeling completely in his element. Some of the Novas combined their strengths to deliver stronger attacks - there wasn't much else they could do, using physical weapons would be like tapping the Colossus with sticks.

"What are you doing?" Aediox shouted out to Konbei as the Colossus continued to calmly slam his sword down at the Novafaita.

"Stopping it!" Konbei shouted back as he went to attack but had to dive out of the way of the Colossus' sword as it came down again.

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?" Aediox shouted at him. "Look at it! Its..."

Aediox suddenly noticed; there were patches of a furry moss like skin among the rocky armour the Colossus wore.

"Hmm..."

"What is it?" Eiria said to Aediox. Konbei seemed to notice the skin too and went to stab a patch on the Colossus' foot.
