LoZ: Dark Times

Konbei shoved his hands in pockets and nodded towards the infirmary. "Is she your mum, then?"

Zelda gasped, her eyes going wide as she stepped back. She had nowhere to go...

Suddenly, with the swift speed no Hylian possessed, Thorne was in front of the queen. The bow in his hands was drawn taut, the arrow pointing directly at the necromancer's skull. The Sheikah said absolutely nothing, silent as ever.

( Waitwaitwaitwait, I thought Lyn and Theo's char were OUTSIDE the infirmary, and Konbei was INSIDE...? XD )

The messenger appeared to be unfazed by the Sheikah's advance. Snarling, he lifted a hand and brushed it fiercely aside, hoping to sweep his shadow magic clear across the man and throw him across the room, just like the soldiers.

"If all the citizens were so fortunate." the attorney said remorsefully.

"I am Prometh: an attorney by trade, but a servant of Justice by choice."

Lyn raised an eyebrow at the man. An attorney, huh? That was certainly an exciting-less life.

She gave a small grin in response.

"I'm Lyn," she replied in turn. "Bounty hunter by trade, and by choice.

"You forget... shadows aren't very effective against those of their affinity."

Thorne, who had been only jerked off balance by the attack, let his arrow fly, and grabbed two throwing daggers from the concealed pockets of his jacket should the shot fail him.

The messenger was stunned beyond belief- his faith in the pure and absolute might of dark magic left him without speech as he saw his mighty attack fail. His split second of hesitation cost him his life, and the arrow plunged straight through his skull, sailing through the other end and clattering uselessly on the floor, staining it red. The messenger stood still, dead, for a moment- before collapsing in a crumpled heap on the ground.

Thorne simply watched the body crumple, slipping his daggers back into their hidden pockets.

Zelda gulped, stepping forwards with a pale pallor. "Thank you, Thorne..."

The Sheikah looked back, his face devoid of all emotion. "It is my duty, Queen Zelda. Your well-being is all that is required."

(Meanwhile Fortuna drowned in a pool of her own blood while an invisible Minish was traumatized.)

Miles's messenger arrived and saw the crumpled body of Arthur's messenger crumpled on the ground before the throne. He loosened his collar and stepped forward, careful not to disturb the body. He held out his missive for Thorne to take and said, "Report from lord Miles in the field." It was clear that he didn't want to hang around any longer than he had too.

(OH DEAR GOD THATS TERRIBLE. As for the ages, fourteen?))

Atticus managed a weak "Hello dear" as he walked through the house. He slowly sat down on the sofa, sitting his elbows on his knees and interwinding his fingers. He sighed.

Enyo had just been going for a walk outside castle town. Although her father would of rathered she stay nearby, she couldn't help but explore. But, the pleasent atmosphere of her evening was shattered when she walked back into the Castle and saw a girl no older than herself bleeding to death.

She let out a shriek, but covered her mouth, and then ran to the girl. "H-H-Hello? Are you alright?"

Shadow frowned as the room fell silent, another patient added to the large number of those already occupying the infirmary's beds. These were the only survivors of the destruction which wreaked through Kakariko...

As he thought back on it, remembering he was not in the Hyrule he knew, his mind went to Zelda... In this world, she was not a 12-year old princess, but a 20-year old Queen. Before, he had been adamant on going to see her and warning her about the danger... But now? He wasn't so sure.

Looking around the infirmary, he found his eyes rested back on Niamh, the little girl sitting off to the side. Shadow frowned, and looked over at Konbei. "I doubt that Arthur is going to stop at just Kakariko," he said with a bitter scowl. "He'll make another move, sooner or later."

"Of course he will," Konbei said like it was an obvious fact. "I'll stop him this time though; if I get the chance I'll rip his throat out with my own hands." He was being completely serious.

Shadow raised an eyebrow at Konbei, at the same time both dubious and amused. "You think all that will take to stop him is ripping his throat out?" he asked, giving a scoff. He looked off to the side, his dark red eyes almost brooding. "That magic he wielded allowed him to open a portal to the Dark Realm and summon dark monsters. That power's not gonna be easy to beat."

From the door of the infirmary, a group of soldiers carried in someone on a stretcher, they appeared to be heavily wounded.

The soldiers transfered him on to a bed.

Joce, who had been tending to Lyn's mother moved over to the injured person and looked over them, in a clear view, it appeared to be Sergius.

"And what brings a bounty hunter to Kakariko Village, might I ask?" Prometh questioned, raising an eyebrow.

Lyn rolled her eyes. "I live there," she answered simply. She then paused- and added as a bitter afterthought, "At least, I DID. No one can live in that pile of rubble now..."

"I could do it," Konbei said with an air of arrogant confidence. "I know about those kinds of powers."

Shadow couldn't help it- at Konbei's complete arrogance, he laughed.

"Oh, really?" he asked, amused, though his voice still bitter as he set his sights on Konbei. "Then tell me, oh wise one. How would you defeat him?"

Niamh wandered up to Konbei "Papa, someone else was just bought in, and they looked really hurt."

"The marvelous trait of houses is that it can be rebuilt." the attorney stated as he stared out a nearby window at the rising smoke below.

Lyn scoffed. "If you've got the materials and the cash, sure," she muttered dryly. "When you're down to nothing... Can't make something out of nothing."

Konbei didn't like the way Shadow seemed to mock him, especially since the boy was only a child. "What? You think because you saved one life you're now a bloody expert?"

He looked down at Niamh when she spoke and then his attention was diverted to the wounded person on the stretcher. His lips parted in surprise when he recognised the man as a friend of his mother's. "Shit..." he muttered and stood up as he watched them carry him through infirmary.

"Zora's... The zora's..." Sergius muttered.

"Take it easy dear." Joce comforted him, she pulled out a small vial of gold liquid, the same liquid she had given to Lyn's mother. She poured it down Sergius' throat.

"The Zoras?" Konbei said in confusion. "Was an attack launched on them as well?"

Sergius coughed, feeling his injuries heal up, when they were done, he sat up and checked himself, he found all his injuries to be completely healed. He looked to Konbei "Yes, they were attacked, but they are all wiped out."
