LoZ: Dark Times

The newcomer dodged, while Sicarye rushed at him, and swung both of his dagger down at Zuroni.

"No!" Zuroni shouted as he attempted to seize Sicarye's arms with his lightning producing hands.

In the moment when Zuroni focused his attack on Sicarye, Lyn made her move. Forgoing her massive sword for the small dagger at her belt, she whipped it out and jumped Zuroni from behind, hoping to plunge it down the back of his neck.

Sicarye jumped backward out of harms way while the newcomer swung his hammer off his back and at Zuroni.

Zelda was still a bit worried by his words, but knew it would be foolish to expect any less of the boy. She smiled slightly. At least one of them was enthusiastic about it.

Zuroni growled and released a shockwave of fire.

The Keaton's lips slowly began to draw back in a snarl. "And might being harm to the Grove? This I cannot tolerate. Meddlesome humans."

She suddenly dropped the angered expression and winked. "Follow me, handsome and company. Heeheehee!" With this, she leapt off the knoll, loping through the forest.

Konbei glanced at Gwene and followed the Keaton through the forest.

(btw, I wouldn't worry about waiting for Karl since he's gone on some kind of Hiatus)

Antares fell the fifth time as he escaped his pursuers, bloodied and injured from a foolish attempt to satiate his bitter pride. He grunted as he endured the pain and staggered to his feet with the support of a nearby tree. The pain in his right thigh was unbearable, and the arrow stuck in his right shoulderblade prevented him from fighting back.

He held his sword limp and in reverse grip in his left hand, using it as support as he fled further out of the woods. He heard the gargles and grunts as three of his attackers neared him from behind. Antares turned around to see three Bokoblins ready to finish their job. He wouldn't allow them to take him, not when he had gone this far. He wouldn't die in this distant land in vain...

The young man gritted his teeth and stood in a weak stance as they came closer and closer with their spiked clubs. The odds were against him, but his arrogance prevented him from seeing this.

Gwene followed behind closely "Company huh? I do have a name, and it's Gwene."

After a good run through what appeared to be miles of the same forest, the Keaton stopped at a wooden barricade.

"Here..."

She placed her paw on it, and it disappeared. She went through the tunnel that was formed, giving a bark-like laugh.

Gwene followed. "So, where is it you are leading us exactly?"

There was no answer from the magical creature. As they followed her through the tunnel, they emerged at a beautiful spring with crystal-clear waters. The Keaton was sitting upon a rock in the spring, baying. Somehow, she had managed to reach it before they'd arrived.

Gwene looked around "Wow, its beautiful."

"I know, Gwene," she said with a wink, then bayed once more. "I am calling upon Faron to see if your plight will be answered."

Thorne had arrived in the castle's main entrance.

Just then, a soldier walked up to Rausten, standing at attention and saluting.

"Sir, your presence is requested in the War Room."

Inside the library, Shadow had fallen silent and walked off to the side, deep in thought. He glanced around at all the books, bitterly noting to himself that he never seen something like this before- not because of its grandeur, but the mere simplicity of a room with books in it. He hid the bitterness away, however, for now, knowing it would do nothing to help their current situation.

Finally, coming to a decision, he sighed and turned back towards Zelda, frowning as he said, "Well, whatever's decided to do, it's got to be decided soon. We're wasting time, and as much as I hate to say it, we can't rely on the groups to be successful any time soon. We have problems here we need to take care of."

Gwene nodded "I hope our prayers are answered."

Cyrus spotted Thorne "I trust you are ready?"

"Very well, I'll head there now." Rausten answered the soldier, he turned to the Great Fairy "Head up to the throne room, the Queen will be up there when she is ready to recieve people." he turned and made his way.

Zelda agreed. She knew they had to take action quickly, and though she wished she could have spent a little more time with Shadow, this would have to do.

"Shall we go see Rausten?" she asked him, approaching the exit with measured steps.

Thorne nodded. "Absolutely," he replied. "From which place should we enter the waterway?"

Shadow nodded. "He said he'd be in the War Room," he said with a frown, walking past her and opening the door. He nodded once towards her; he hoped he didn't have to say that he didn't know the way to the room, and would instead silently follow her, making sure she was protected until they got into the safety of the War Room.

Zelda mentally smacked herself. Of course he didn't know his way. She should have been well-aware, but yet again, she'd forgotten...

"This way," she smiled, turning to the left and looking back to see if he'd follow.

Shadow nodded once and followed after Zelda. He hoped that this one small unspoken act, of her leading the way through her castle, would be enough to prove to her that, as he was not her "Link", he had no memories or experiences of being inside her castle.

Well... He did know the insides of a castle... But it was not this one, and certainly not under the best of circumstances.

For the moment, he felt it best not to talk about it, and instead remained silent, though on alert, as he walked close behind her, escorting her as she led the way to the War Room.

Rausten entered the war room, he looked around wanting to see who needed him.

As if in an answer to the Keaton's baying, a soft sound, almost a whispering voice, began to drift around and towards them, swirling around the three like a gentle breeze...

I am... contained... Find me... free me... and I may help you... save Hyrule...

"Greetings, sir," came a voice from the War Room, and from the other side of the large, round table walked a tall man with a dignified beard and an almost regal-like pose. His hands held politely behind his back, Auru gave a curt nod to Rausten. "I am glad you could make it. Now, perhaps, we may discuss the coordination of our kingdom's troops in order to prepare to fend off another attack by Arthur and his minions?"

Sunshine ceased baying, tilted her head for a moment, then snickered behind a paw.

"This isn't the end of the road, duckies. Faron is not here, but contained."

She vanished from the rock, and appeared beside Gwene, nuzzling her leg. "I guess it is time to use your heads! Heehee!"

Zelda considered knocking upon the door when she heard voices, but quickly deemed it silly and opened it.

"Auru, Rausten." She greeted them with a swift nod, sitting down at the table and looking to Shadow as if to say 'do the same.'

Shadow followed Zelda into the room, and while he knew Rausten would be there, was slightly surprised to see a second person already in the room. Likewise, Auru looked over at him with confusion, and slight disapproval.

"Your Highness," he said, frowning as he looked over to the Queen, "might I ask what this child is doing in-"

Shadow tightened his fists in fury, his blazing red eyes narrowing. "I am not a child," he said quietly, dangerously, his voice almost in itself a warning. "And you will not treat me as such."

Completely shocked and taken off-guard, Auru looked wide-eyed at Shadow, then back to Zelda, as if to ask just what her say was in all this, in this strange... person... being here in the war room with them.
