Feast of Veritas (Continued)

((Where did Dalikos get the poisoned water? :? ))

The legs-Veritas made a thrust at Deserax's upper leg, attempting to wound him enough to slow him down.

(I was assuming there was poison water in the room... like at the walls... ^.^' Sorry, imagination is a curse sometimes.)

Deserax rolled again, but he got a small cut on his leg. He stopped for a second to stand, and looked at the wound.

"Too many of these and I'm fucked!" Deserax then charged at Veritas, sword ready for a horizontal slice.

((It's okay. If you need a reference, think of the ballroom in Beauty and the Beast, except you know...dark and creepy. XD ))

The legs-Veritas knew his blade would not stop a strike like that, so he summoned a thick handstalk to block the attack for him. It was nothing more than a sheild, but it would give the aristocrat a chance to strike Deserax's free shoulder. He planned to cripple the lad one limb at a time.

Deserax took the hit, and stumbled backwards. He turned the stumble into a back flip, but held the gash.

"Damn it!"

From behind the wounded Deserax the head-Veritas leapt down to slash the back of the lad's neck.

Macabre was on the chandelier the entire time, his escape assisted by the miasma bomb he deployed. As the black gas cleared up, Macabre spotted Dalikos and fired a dart at his neck.

Dalikos turned to see the dart coming his way and rolled into the thick mist to where he could not be seen by anyone. He had seemed to vanish.

Deserax rolled to the left, but again, he got scraped.

"Thats it! Its time to end this fucking game!" Deserax said as he started to search through his adventure pouch for something.

The two aristocrats continued their attacks, easily flanking Deserax and ready to skewer his heart from opposite sides.

Dalikos who had previously vanished, appeared right behind Deserax, and quickly pushed him out of the way. He stood up right as the weapons went through his stomach. Dalikos coughed up blood as he already started to feel some life slipping out of him. Deserax who got pushed, looked up to see his brother coughing up blood. Deserax clenched his fist, feeling rage pulse through him.

"Your dead...!" He quietly whispered.

The aristocrats looked at one another with cruel grins on their faces. They withdrew their blades and let the corpse fall to the ground. They then turned their gaze on Deserax.

"Fear not, boy. You shall join him soon enough."

Dalikos wasn't quite dead, yet, but there was no way he could fight back.

"D-Des... Use.. the-" Dalikos closed his eyes at that moment. He didn't need to finish though, because Deserax new what he was talking about.

"You've always said, "The Truth shall set your free..." Deserax reached into his pouch, and slowly slid out a familiar item. He took it out, and held it in front of him.

"Well, then here's the truth! You will DIE on this day!"

Whatever smirks were on the aristocrats faces were wiped clean at the sight of the Lens of Truth.

"Give that back you little rat!" the two men shouted in unison. They dropped their swords rushed toward Deserax with the vicious intent on clawing his eyes out. Their fingers turning into razor sharp claws, their teeth becoming jagged, their eyes as monstrous as ever.

Deserax moved away from them while mocking a thinking pose.

"Hmm... Give you back the eye of truth..." He turned to everyone else.

"what do you guys think? Should i give him the eye of truth back?" His tone, obviously a toying one.

"Yes!" Dramus shouted.

The aristocrats quickly turned around and charged at Deserax again, this time flanking him to strike from both sides.

Konbei stepped in and swung hard at one of Deserax's attackers.

(I just had to...)

Macabre gracefully dropped down from the chandelier and spotted Nuala not too far away. He growled and pointed at her, challenging her to another round.

The head-Veritas was forced to break off from the attack to deal with Konbei. He ducked under the punch and went to squeeze Konbei's neck.

Konbei went to snatch the head-Veritas' wrist and thrust his sward through his stomach.

Nuala turned to Macabre and looked at him with a harsh glare. Her energy became thicker around her as she readied her weapon and waited for her opponent to strike first.

The blade went straight through Veritas' chest, the bloody tip clearly visible from the other side. The aristocrat coughed up some blood and began to fall, putting all of his weight on the sword.

Konbei withdrew his blade and stepped back to let his opponent fall to the ground.

The bleeding Veritas grabbed the blade as it left his body. His fingers were cut badly as they slipped through the bloody steel. He glared at Konbei with a mix of fear and hatred as he fell to his knees, and then onto his stomach. His blood pooled on the finely waxed floor.

Konbei returned his glare and sliced his katana at the head-Veritas' neck, hoping to decapitate him.

The blade refused to sever the aristocrat's head, as if it had struck a block of granite. In a moment Veritas was looking up at Konbei, smiling wickedly.

"Come now, Konbei; you will have to do better than that."

Konbei stepped back when Veritas looked up at him. He raised his foot and went to kick him hard in the face.
