The Inner Gambit of Darkness - Continued (Part 4)

"Good things Deserax isn't here. He's the only one that can between me and him. Well, given certain circumstances..." Dalikos stopped saying anything. He didn't want to give away a secret he and Deserax had made up.

Lyn merely rolled her eyes as she walked past Dalikos, through the door and into the next room- or rather, hallway. She didn't get far, either- stopping a few feet into the hallway as her feet met a dead end, where a large pit stretched out in front of them. A ledge reached out on the other side, a wall in front of it- though it looked suspicious. There was no way they could jump across it, but... Her eyes were drawn to a target just on the ledge of the opposite floor.

Getting out her bow and fitting an arrow to the string, she called out to the others behind her, "Anyone got a rope?"

Deserax saw where Lyn stopped.

"I could get across this." He simply stated. His hand was on his chin and he was eying the narrow walls around the gap.

Lyn glared at Dalikos, the arrow on her bow already drawn.

"Don't be an idiot," she scoffed. "I'll shoot a rope to the other side, one of us goes over and secures it for the rest of us. Simple."

(Tigger, Pm at your way.)

"I'm not light enough to be able to walk across the rope without the possibility of it snapping, so I'm not doing it!" Dalikos backed away from the edge a bit.

"then swing across. you could climb across upside down like a sloth for all i care! as long as we get from here, to over there in one piece." Verron stated, obviously annoyed at being stopped by a seemingly simple obstical.

Sergius pulled out a rope from his adventure pouch and handed it to Lyn.

"I'll go across." Farore offered.

Once more Lyn found herself irritated with the company she kept. Nonetheless, she took the rope from Sergius, tied it around her arrow, and let it fly off the string of her bow. The arrowhead struck dead center in the target, and Lyn grabbed the rope's end, tugging it twice to make sure it was secure. When it was, she knelt down, holding the rope taunt and pressing it firmly it against the floor. She gave a silent nod to Farore, indicating it was okay for her to start walking.

Farore nodded, she began to walk across it like a tight rope, she was perfectly balanced and managed to walk across it fine, when on the other side, she took the rope off of the arrow, she the turned and faced the wal behind her.

Lyn would be lying if she said she didn't hold her breath as she held the rope for Farore to walk on- but she hid it well nonetheless.

When Farore reached the other side, Lyn nodded, still holding the rope. She figured she would be last to cross, since there was nothing to tie the rope against with on her side, she'd have to swing over and climb up the rope to the platform once everyone was on the other side.

"Can you tie the end of the rope to anything over there?" she called over to Farore.

Farore lifted up her hand and gave a thumbs up. She then continued to walk through the wall she had been standing in front of, tugging could be felt on the rope as it felt as though it was being tied to something.

Lyn's eyebrows jumped in light surprise as she watched Farore walk through the wall. She paused for a moment before speaking, a bit dryly with a touch of sarcasm, "I don't suppose that's just a "goddess-only" thing, is it?"

Sighing, she said nothing else, instead holding the rope tight and ready, jerking her thumb across the rope and looking towards the others, indicating they should start walking across.

Verron blinked. Did she just walk through a wall? The fire sage shook her head. She shouldn't be surprised. This was the shadow temple, and that was a goddess. Frankly, anything could happen.

Lyn grit her teeth, looking back at the others, frustrated.

"Well?" she snapped at the others. "I can't hold this thing forever. Start walking!"

"Ok, Ok. I'm going." Dalikos approached the rope and started walking on it carefully, like he had watched Nayru do. With much less grace of course. He ended up falling, but he was close enough to the end to grab the ledge and pull himself up.

"i'm comming. no need to get fussy" Verron said, rolling her eyes. She tookthe first few steps tentatively, then crossed the rest of the rope quickly. It wasn't a perfect performance like Farore, but it got the job done. Being a theif had it's advantages.

Sergius swung underneath the rope and slothed across, he looked back at Atticus and Dane.

Cyrus also crossed, using his lance to keep himself balanced as he tightroped across, he safely stood on the solid ground and looked at everyone, he walked over to Verron. "You all good?"

The Ebony Knuckle stumbled back a bit, but quickly recovered with a downward swing.

Konbei leapt to the side and repeated his attack.

The Ebony Knuckle stumbled back into a column and revealed its red eye through a crack in its armor.

In a jump attack, Konbei went to stab the Ebony Knuckle's eye.

The Ebony Knuckle growled as its scythe arms fell off and combusted in black flames along with some chunks of the chest armor. It suddenly vanished and reappeared in the middle of the room as it walked towards Konbei with a faster pace.

Konbei whipped around and faced the Ebony Knuckle. He got into a stance and charge at his enemy with his blade ready.

The Ebony Knuckle attempted to shove Konbei off guard.
