The Inner Gambit of Darkness - Continued (Part 4)

The Ebony Knuckle cancelled its attack and growled as it charged towards Konbei with a surprising burst of speed.

Konbei ran at it also and attempted to fly tackle his enemy.

The Ebony Knuckle suddenly brought its axe up with a running strike.

It was too late for Konbei to stop himself, so he tried at slash the Ebony knuckle at the last minute.

The blade barely scratched the Ebony Knuckle's sturdy armor.

Konbei fell to ground, narrowly missing the Ebony Knuckle's axe. He quickly rolled and stood up again, immediately slashing at it again, determined to somehow injure it.

The attack had the same results.

If Konbei were to think back, the Ebony Knuckle's seemed to have a red eye that served as a weakpoint. This was only revealed by using the Siver Gauntlets...

The Ebony Knuckle brought its axe up and swung sideways.

(OMG LOOK WHO'S BACK. :O)

That was it. She'd had enough. Fed up with the damned monsters left and right, Lyn grabbed her double-handed sword with both hands and ran up quickly to the numerous hands which had sprouted out of the ground. Slicing them in half one by one, she moved in a circle until she came up to the monstrosity itself- and without a single hesitation, drove the point of her sword through one of its eyes.

The beast shrieked, writhing back in pain, Lyn's sword still impaled through its head.

Dalikos had helped out Verron and turned just in time to see another one get stabbed through the head.

Lyn quickly withdrew her blade from the head of the Dead Hand- and, groaning, it let out one final death moan before collapsing limply to the ground, dead before it hit the dirt.

Snarling, she bent down beside it, wiping the blood and guts off her blade and onto the stems of grass below.

"Disgusting little abominations," she growled under her breath as she cleaned her sword.

"Well, glad you can put some of that hate against the enemy!" Dalikos said, slashing at a near by Re dead.

Lyn grumbled a silent, bitter response under her breath to Dalikos' comment, and stood up, once more beheading another ReDead beside her. As the dismembered head rolled by her foot, she crushed it underneath her boot, and kept walking, wiping the sole of her shoe on the dirt as she went.

"Any more of 'em?"

"only a few" Verron said, bashing in the back of one of the last ReDead's skulls with her hilt. As the last redead fell, Verron wiped the mixture of sweat and zombie blood from her forehead.
"what i wouldn't give for a bath~" she grumbled whistfully. "so? where to next?" she asked, turning to her fellow sheikah with the eyepatch.

"The Shadow Temple of course." Shademire spoke up as he looked at the elevated ground above the graveyard. He sheathed both dagger and sword.

Once more, Lyn wiped off her sword, her expression still gruff and frustrated. The fight had let off a lot of pent-up steam, but now she was exhausted, and her mood was only sinking lower and lower. She gave one last glare towards Dalikos, simple reasoning being that he was the cause for this little adventure she was in, and silently followed the rest of the group towards the entrance.

Konbei crossed his blades over and blocked the axe between them. He used his strength to push the weapon away from his body as he lifted his leg and went to kick the Ebony Knuckle away.

"Up there." Sergius said, pointing up to the entrance. He walked over and pulled a concealed ladder out from behind some bushes and set it up so they could reach the landing. He climbed up first to test its sturdiness, he put his feet back on the ground and looked down at the rest. "All clear."

Scowling, Lyn brushed past the others and walked up to the man who presented them with the ladder.

"Let's get this over with," she sighed, grasping the ladder's bars with her hands and starting to climb.

Dlaikos followed behind Lyn, but waited until she was all the way up the latter. The last thin he wanted was for her to 'slip' and her foot go into his face.

After pulling herself the rest of the way up, Lyn narrowed her eyes as they adjusted to the darkness of the room around them. She took a few steps forward, narrowing her eyes as she looked at the scene around her. They were in a circular room, it was dark and damp, and the perimeter of the room was lined with unlit torches. At the far end of the room was a large, grandiose door with a strange symbol on it. She almost felt as if she'd seen it before, but...

She crossed her arms, moving away from the ladder so others could come up. She called down, almost in a bored tone, "Anyone here got a match?"

"To get through, we have to lit all the torches at once." Sergius explained, he stood near little platform in the center, that had a shadowy figure to it, it looked like the Fire Medallion.

"And Verron is called to the platform!" Dalikos said after looking at the fire medallion symbol.

Verron chuckled as she reached the others. "Alright then, step aside." She made her way to the center of the room using a small flame to light her way. once there she took a stance with her arms outstretched to either side. Then, with one quick motion, she spun around sending a ring of fire out to light the torches.

With all the torches lit, the giant door parted and opened a new path.

Farore stepped forward "One thing you should know before entering. Warping will not work inside, if you attempt to, you will be bought back to the entrance."

Lyn took an instinctive step backwards, her eyes slightly widening in both surprise and anger as she witnessed the powerful fire attack light all the torches. When it was over, she mumbled under her breath, "Damned magic users..." She wanted to gripe more about it, how she hated magic, but something about how the fire appeared almost made her hesitant to do so.

Still, once again magic was brought up, and she scowled as she looked up at Farore. "No worries here," she answered a bit gruffly as she brushed past her towards the door, "couldn't if I wanted to."
