The Inner Gambit of Darkness - Continued (Part 2)

"That's what we said after Daimus was killed..." Celeste said, leaving her statement open.

Gwene nodded "But I have a feeling that it will be different this time."

"I hope so," Celeste nodded positively.

"It will be." Gwene nodded. "Listen, seeing as we are up now, want to go up to Russell's and see if he has finished your sword?"

"Okay," Celeste said, getting up.

"Meet you downstairs in 10." Gwene slipped out of Celeste's room and went back to hers and Konbei's, when she got inside she saw he was still asleep. She went over to the bed and crawled on to him and lay on his chest, she kissed his cheek "Morning sleepyhead."

Konbei flinched a little from her touch, but gave her a brief, tired smile. "What did you wake me up for...?" he mumbled.

She kissed him on the lips this time "Just because I could." she toyed with him.

"Or you could just let me sleep..." he said, sounding a little annoyed.

Gwene smiled and kissed him once more, she climbed off of him and put the rest of her clothes on. "I'm going back up to Russell's with Celeste to get her weapons." she left him to his sleeping and slipped outside.

"Is Konbei not coming with us?" Celeste said as she peered around Gwene at him. She sounded a little deflated.

Gwene shook her head "He was up quite late last night. He was deep in thought about something, so I left to it."

"Alright," Celeste said with a shrug and headed out of the inn.

Gwene and Celeste walked up to Russell's forge. "I know its early, but what about names?"

Deserax woke up feeling sore all over.

"Fuck... Shouldn't... have.. fallen asleep outside..." He got up and heard every single joint pop. Some of it felt good, other parts hurt like hell.

"I wonder what's going to happen today..." He mumbled.

Galenus had slept in his makeshift home, he emerged and made his way up the mountain. He spotted Deserax on the way up and gave him a small nod.

Lucan stretched after having a good night's sleep and made his way over to Deserax and Galenus. He waved at them as if to say "Good Morning!"

Dane saw the sun rise from his dungeon cell. He smiled a little bit.

"At least I know it's a brand new day."

"Hello guys. How'd you all sleep?" Deserax asked Lucan and Galenus.

Lucan nodded, as if to say he slept well.

"Fuck it!" Brenz shouted angrily, stomping out of Dane's house.

Why could he never get what he wanted?

Steven was at the forge, leaning against a wall and watching a raven fly by. It was followed by a dark chill. Steven looked around as if he was trying to see what caused it. He seemed to shrug it off, but in reality he was on alert.

Celeste made it back Russell's. She was looking forward to receiving her improved sword, it gave her something else to think about other than Praenuntius. She saw everyone else and gave them a small smile.

Deserax smiled back at Celeste and nodded to to her. He then started to walk the other way. The run slowly turned into a jog as he took a morning jog for a little bit.
