The Inner Gambit of Darkness - Continued (Part 2)

"No....." Gwene started to speak in her sleep, "No.... NO!" she shrieked the last no and sat up with a cold sweat, she was breathing heavily, trying to catch her breath.

Konbei was woken up and looked over at Gwene. "What the hell?" he said sleepily.

She looked at Konbei and outside, the sun was beginning to rise "Oh. Sorry, I just had a nightmare." she looked a little pale. She got up out of bed, she felt as though she was going to be sick. "I'll be back." she quickly left the room and proceeded to the bathroom.

Konbei lay awake on his back, staring at the ceiling and waiting for Gwene to return.

Gwene had just thrown up in the toilet, this had been going on for a while now, she wiped her mouth with a cloth and went and knocked on Celeste's door, hoping she would hear her. She had told Celeste that she had been feeling this way for a while now.

Celeste yawned and went to open the door. "Gosh, Gwene, you're up early..." Celeste said, letting her in.

Gwene entered and sat on Celeste's bed "I'm still getting sick in the mornings." she paused "I hope its nothing contagious. Maybe I should ask Nuala, its been going on for almost 2 months now."

Celeste made the happiest smile she could manage. "I don't think it's contagious..." she said.

"What?" Gwene asked confused "What do you mean?"

"Gwene... are you sure you're not," Celeste paused to yawn again, "you know..."

She made an expression that told Gwene to 'take a hint'.

Gwene shook her head again, oblivious to what Celeste was hinting at.

Celeste sighed and facepalmed. She leant over to Gwene and whispered in her ear, "I think you're going to have a baby."

She sat back and looked at Gwene with an excited smile.

"What?!?" Gwene half yelled half shrieked. She put her mouth over her mouth to quieten herself. She looked at Celeste with eyes full of excitement and disbelief. "How can you.... How do you know?"

"I remember Nuala got sick too at the start," Celeste said. "When are you going to tell Konbei? Oh! Go and tell him now!"

"Wow." Gwene placed a hand on her stomach. She was with child and didn't even know about it. Her eyes widened when she heard Celeste say she should go tell Konbei "No.... I..... not yet. After all this is over." she paused "Should I tell Nuala first?"

"Oh please tell Konbei!" Celeste begged; she knew he was probably awake and wanted to be there when Gwene told someone. "You should tell him first anyway."

Gwene shook her head. "No. I'll wait until after we have sealed the Evil Realm and peace has returned." she took Celeste's hands in her own "Please, don't tell anyone."

"Okay..." Celeste sighed, her smile still present.

Gwene then grabbed Celeste and pulled her into a hug. "Thank you..." she paused "Great Aunty Celeste."

Celeste hugged Gwene back. "I think it's a girl."

"A girl?" Gwene asked "How can you be so sure?"

Celeste separated from Gwene and shrugged. "Just a guess."

"A girl..." Gwene repeated, movoing her hand over her stomach. "So long as I have a healthy baby, I don't care what it is."

Celeste smiled at her again. She looked outside at the rising sun and sighed. "I suppose we have to keep going and find the rest of those Sages..."

"Just two more." Gwene said. "I hope we find them soon. Then we can put all this behind us."
