The Legend of Zelda: The Sacred Dragons

Konbei put the bottle away and stood up, offering a hand to Gwene. "We should keep going," he said. "Maybe we could find somewhere safe to stay until we figure out what to do next."

Gwene nooded in agreement, she took Konbei's hand and stood up.

"The village is just there," Konbei said as he walked and nodded to the town at the bottom of the hill.

Link spotted the group, he ran past them, looking around for Zelda.

"Link?" Gwene said as he ran past her, almost knocking her down again "What are you doing?"

Link was too busy looking for Zelda to listen to Gwene, he looked over to the next hill and saw another figure, it wasn't Zelda, it was Orla, the one responsible for all of this. He then sprinted to her, his Sword and Shield drawn, ready to attack.

Orla looked at Link running towards her with an annoyed frown. She took her staff and waved it half-heartedly. A violent flash of red exploded right at Link's feet.

Unsure of what it was, Link leapt to the side to avoid it, he then looked back at Orla's direction.

"Hm, so you survived Vipera," Orla said. "It seems you have luck on your side... But nothing else."

Link just glared at her, his grip tightening on his sword.

Gwene had joined Link's side. "What's going on?"

Orla noticed she was Hylian and looked at Gwene with a subtley disgusted look. "Apparently I have underestimated you. Never mind though; it will be interesting to watch you all crumble when you're forced to your limits."

"Link? Who is she?" Gwene asked him, not taking her eyes off of Orla.

Link's look intensified, he was about ready to charge.

"I'm the one who will soon rule this land," Orla answered in an uninterested tone.

"World domination? Again?" Gwene said in a bored tone. She carefully examined Orla "One Gerudo failed, and another will." something then clicked in Gwene's head "You are the one who took Zelda, aren't you?" her tone had immediately become cold.

Orla gave Gwene a harsh look. "Careful..." she warned and then rolled her eyes. "Yes, I know where the princess is. But you can figure it out for yourselves."

With that, she was gone.

Link took a step forward, holding his hand out, as if reaching for Orla, but she was already gone.

Gwene, whose hand had moved to the hilt of one of her blades, but she let it fall to her side when Orla left. She turned to walk back down the bill to the village "Come on." she said to Link as she word past him "You can brief us down there."

Link nodded, he put his sword and shield away and followed Gwene.

During the encounter, a certain small dragon had been hidden under Link's hat. She wasn't yet sure she could trust this new friend of Link's, and she figured the less Orla knew of her and her freedom, the better.

Still, she felt her companion needed some assurance. Whispering so only he could hear, she said comfortingly, "Don't worry, Link. Your Zelda is safe. We'll find her."

"Everything alright?" Konbei asked them.

Link had lead everyone back down to the village, they sat in Soothe's house while Link explained everything that had taken place on that day.

When Link had finished speaking, Gwene then asked a question "So, that woman, Orla, had taken Zelda against her will and wants to use her power to take over the world?"

Link nodded.

"And that little dragon on your shoulder is one of the Sacred Dragons that watches over the land of Vita?" she asked Link once more.

Link nodded again, confirming what Gwene had said.

Rather reluctantly, Meri had come out of Link's hat- she found it rather comfortable in there, really- and sat upon his shoulder. For the moment, she remained silent as Link introduced her- but, knowing that he could only go so far, smiled as she decided to speak up.

"I am Meridem," she said sweetly to the others. "I am one of the four children of the Great Dragon, Vita."

"Where are the other three?" Konbei said.

"My brothers are currently asleep in their temples," Meri answered with a smile. "Link and I are going to go wake them up. With our combined powers, we can stop Orla."

Link pulled out the map of Vita Soothe had given him and lay it on the table, for Meridiem to point out where they had to go next.

Smiling, Meri reached over and pointed to the western portion of the map.

"My brother, Occidentem, has his temple here," she said with a nod. "It's closest to us." She then looked up at the others. "But if any of you are in need of supplies, it might be best to visit the city close by first."

Gwene looked over the map "Gladius Mountain." she looked to the city "Draco Vita City." she then looked to Link "What do you think we should do?"

Link looked at the map thinking. He then signalled Gladius Mountain.

"Okay, so what would you say if we were to go re-group with Sergius in the city, while you went to Gladius Mountain and found the next dragon?"

Link nodded in agreement.

Nodding to the others, Meri smiled as she flew a bit higher, landing comfortably on Link's hat.

Looking at the others, she spoke again. "If you are to separate," she said kindly, "It would be best if you not mention my awakening to any others. We want Orla to know as little as absolutely possible about what we are doing."

Link and Gwene both nodded in understanding.

"What do you guys think of the plan?" Gwene asked everyone.
