The Inner Gambit of Darkness - Continued (Part 3)

"It seems that poor fool is breaking the hold, I guess I'll have to put him out of his misery." Daimus spoke to himself, he aimed a hand at Konbei and with the influecne he had left, tried to destroy Konbei's mind.

Deserax looked at Damius then back at Konbei.

"Doesn't... look good..." Deserax chucked his sword at Damius' arm to try and stop him.

From the height in which Daimus stood, and owning to the fact Deserax was injured, the sword never came close.

"Goddesses... Damn it..." Deserax tried to muster up some energy for a few fire balls, but even that eluded him.

Konbei, who had been trying to decide between the two voices, suddenly felt a searing pain pierce his temples and he dropped to his knees and double over, clutching his head.

"K-Konbei! Fight... it!" Deserax didn't know exactly what was happening, but it was something in his mind for sure.

Gwene looked over and saw Konbei was in pain "No..." she found new strength and got to her feet, she slowly walked over to Konbei, when she was with him she dropped to her knee's and pulled him in "Please. Konbei, fight it."

Brenz eyes widened. "Shit..."

He turned the rifle on Damius, and fired.

Atticus was about to shout out to Konbei when the gun went off. His head quickly jerked upward.

The voices in Konbei's head were gone, there was nothing but pain. He felt someone touch him and a maybe voice somewhere outside his mind. He thought it was Gwene and used her presence to try and fight it and anchor what was left of himself to something good.

"Konbei please!" Gwene shouted to him, panic in her voice. "You can't let this thing kill you, you can't!." she had no other choice "Because... Because... Because you are going to be a father! I'm pregnant, with your child!"

Daimus heard the shot and looked down, the sound of a speeding object flew past his right ear.

Konbei only heard part of what Gwene was yelling at him but it was enough get through to him on a deep enough level to give him the power to force Daimus out of his head. He scrunched his hands into his hair and gritted his teeth as he tried to free his mind of the dark influence that knew him all too well.

He let one hand go when he the pain start to fade and with his eyes still squeezed shut, reached to grab Gwene's hand.

Deserax grinned and Saw Konbei was fighting it off.

"Nice job..." Deserax looked around for monument and saw the almost empty bottle off Blue potion.

"Since no one else will get it..." Deserax limped his way to the potion and grabbed it. He then pored a little on the wound then drank the rest. HE felt his wound start to close up.

She took his hand and kissed him on the lips "Please fight it." Gwene continued to plead with him "You can't give in, I want our child to have a father. Please Konbei, please!"

"Focus Konbei! You can do this!" Deserax shouted. As his wound started to close, he rubbed it a little.

Brenz promptly reloaded the weapon, and fired on Damius again.

"Konbei...you can do this. Your stronger than whats controlling you." Atticus said, looking up at him.

Although Konbei didn't respond to Gwene's kiss, he felt it and it encouraged it him to keep fighting back as he felt the darkness gradually leave him. He didn't deserve someone like Gwene who, after everything he had done to her and the mess he had put her in, still stuck by him no matter what.

Konbei's shoulders relaxed and he let out the breath he'd been holding in. His head still throbbed and he had a dull head ache but his mind felt free again, like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders. His other hand dropped limply by his side but his eyes stayed shut. He didn't want to look at Gwene, he didn't know how to face her with the guilt he was feeling...

Gwene saw he was no longer hurting "Konbei?"

Realising his hold on Konbei was no more he used his hand and cast a barrier around to it defelt the path of the speeding bullet.

"Nice job Konbei! You did it!" Deserax stood up, although there was still some pain in his leg.

"You see that Damius? Konbei was able to beat you. Soon, with all of the seven sages, your ass is grass!"

Konbei slowly looked at Gwene. He couldn't make the words come out but sorry was written all over his face.

Ryan gave Deserax a thumbs up, "Nicing Rhyming dude!" he grinned.

"Oh Konbei..." she pulled him in and held him tightly, not wanting to ever let go.

Daimus gave an unamused laugh. The times changed, but the pathetic attempts at threats remained the same.

Deserax grinned.

"After so long of being near a rhyming master, you pick up on a little."

Brenz put his rifle on his back. "You hear that, arsehole? Your puppet broke free. Your days are numbered."

Ryan nodded with a grin, "Yo let's kick Daimus' ass, I'm hungry for some bass." He rhymed as he Held Out Samehada and look out at Daimus and grinned, "Fool, Ya fool, You gonna have to deal with us all, this battle has yet to hit the wall."

Deserax drew his blade.

"Your going down Demon god!"
